At Coates International, we believe it's the responsibility of every individual and corporate citizen to help protect our planet's environment and conserve energy. Consequently, a large part of our mission is protecting the environment through reduced emissions, energy consumption, and noise abatement. Because the Coates' patented CSRV technology is incorporated into all our products, each engine produced by Coates International offers the following environmental benefits:

Reduced Emissions:
greenhouse gases such as carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbons (HC) are significantly reduced in CSRV engines because no oil is burned in valve ports and highly increased combustion efficiency.

Reduced Oil Changes and Engine Maintenance:
Considerably less waste engine oil is produced because CSRV engines do not require oil for lubricating engine heads and valves as in traditional poppet-valve engines. The number of oil changes during the life of the engine is significantly reduced and in some cases made totally unnecessary. General engine maintenance is reduced as well due to fewer parts and the absence of counter pumping motions.

Reduced Noise:
CSRV engines produce less noise compared to their poppet-valve counterpart because of the absence of noisy reciprocating valve trains and bouncing valves.

Reduced Fuel Consumption:
Consumption of natural gas, gasoline, and other fuels is reduced because of the CSRV's high volumetric efficiency, low parasitic power consumption, and high efficiency in part-load operations.

Alternate fuel compatibility:
With the CSRV's ability to work efficiently with natural gas, methanol, ethanol, propane, gasoline, diesel, and fuel blends, engines can be produced to utilize the best fuel for lower emissions.

Minimized manufacturing impact:
Furthermore, to advance local citizenship responsibilities, Coates International will implement manufacturing processes, design facilities, and manage its property with minimal environmental impact.
